Stout University Foundation Scholarships
Stout Foundation scholarships are awarded based on an overall student profile, including participation in academic organizations and other groups, students' interest areas or financial need. Awards range from $250 to $6,000. Scholarship applications are due December 4, 2009.
Honors Residential Scholarship
This competitive scholarship will provide eight (8) $3,200 scholarships. Eligibility requirements: 1) 25 ACT composite score and rank in the top 25% of high school graduating class (or a 3.5 cumulative GPA only for high schools that do not rank), OR 2) rank in the top 10% of high school graduating class, AND acceptance into Stout's University Honors Program. Students meeting these criteria will receive a University Honors Program application and an Honors Residential Scholarship application. If you believe you meet the requirements above and do not receive application materials, contact the University Honors Program at deyo-svendsenb@uwstout.edu The due date for scholarship applications is Dec. 4, 2009. Selection will be based upon the applicant's academic performance and their essay responses. Award notifications will be sent out in mid-February. This scholarship can be renewed for a second year. Scholarship winners must live in a UW-Stout residence and purchase one of the UW-Stout meal plans.
STEM Scholarship
Outstanding students majoring in science, technology, engineering or math could qualify for a $5,000 scholarship renewable for up to four years. Students with a 28 composite ACT score, and a 25 math sub-score, and rank in the top 10% of their graduating class (3.8 GPA if your high school does not rank) will be invited to campus to interview for these scholarships on February 4, 2010.

Applied Science Future Leaders (ASFL)
Freshmen majoring in Applied Science from underrepresented minority groups may qualify for a $10,000 scholarship renewable up to four years with demonstrated financial need. Ten scholarships are available. Applicants who demonstrate academic promise and a commitment to Applied Science will be invited to the Applied Science NSF S-STEM Invitational March 5, 2010. To maintain eligibility for ASFL scholarships, students must remain in good academic standing and have achieved a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA and demonstrated participation in required program activities. Applicants who demonstrate academic promise and a commitment to Applied Science will be invited to the Applied Science NSF S-STEM Invitational February, 2010. STEM Stars
These scholarships will be awarded to 5 current or articulating Applied Science students. Recipients will be awarded a maximum of $5,000 or their FAFSA estimated “financial need”, whichever is less. This scholarship is not renewable. Applicants who demonstrate academic promise and a commitment to Applied Science will be invited to the Applied Science NSF S-STEM Invitational March 5, 2010. Multicultural Student Scholarship Awards
These awards consist of four-year scholarships valued at $10,000. Students selected for this scholarship will receive $2,500 each year for up to four years. Students are eligible to be considered for a scholarship if they are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander, or Hispanic American; are a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the United States; have attained a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted); will be enrolling for the first time at UW-Stout as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student in fall 2010; and have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities. Chancellor’s Academic Honor Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship will be automatically awarded to those students who rank in the top 5 percent of their graduating class (a 3.75 GPA for high schools that do not rank), and who have an ACT score of at least 25, (or an equivalent SAT score) and enroll at UW-Stout by July 15 and register for classes by August 2.
National Merit Finalists are eligible for a $2,000 award. Students who qualify for both will be awarded the scholarship of greater value.
In addition, freshmen and sophomores must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid by the priority date of February 15, 2010.
