Minor to accompany HRTM 

Hi. I am so excited to be going to Stout next year, and will be in the HRTM program. I just noticed on the HRTM page that

"Students may select a minor in Gaming Management, Property Management, Lodging, Tourism, and concentrations in Lodging Management, Food Service Management, Tourism Planning and Development, International Hospitality Management and Property Management. A certificate is offered in Gaming Management. "

Can I get a minor outside of those? I want a double minor, and I am hoping to get one in Business Administration and Applies Foreign Language. Also, for applied foreign language, do you take two foreign languages. (A&B foreign languages on the minor bulletin)

Hi,

The minors that you are referring to are like built in minors! They are worked right in to the program. So yes, you can pick another minor outside of what you are going to do...some minor in business, some pick up a double major in Service Management (because you only have to take a few more classes to have both majors!! BONUS!). I highly recommend a foreign language for the industry you are considering...it will be very valuable.
